New Template!!!

Lets start off with a random picture -
Its my new hard drive! 320 GB SeaGate worth RM230 of warranty 5 years.
Wanna thank so much to my dad!

New Attire
Well, it is pretty obvious that my blog have a new appearance. Since there are some extra time in hand (holidaying of coz) and I'd been freaking bored with the old appearance of my blog, finally I decided to do some "renovation".

So I browse through Google and found a piece of nice template.
Blue. Plain. Simple. Vast.
So did I downloaded them...and Whoala.

I always prefer Blue or green simply because they are rejuvenating.
Though in the past I favored dark-coloured background, now I've my taste twisted a lil.
Nice isn't it the new look?

Frenz 4eva!!!
It had been nearly a year since my last meet with Conilia and SinChean during CNY and unexpectedly we meet again this very end of year. Thanks to Joey for the call up! And its been 2 years I've not seen her.

This time we go to Wings Cafe. Quite a cool place. There is a professional performer there that plays the guitar and sings. And the beverages, of course cost us quite a fortune.
Therefore I only had a drink. hehe. Then we had a great conversation, mostly of some past memories that we spent together, esp about the trip to Japan. Really miss those times.

Classical: Its Conilia, Joey, SinChean and me @ Wings Cafe.
Dug out some memory in Japan.

Though there's a big gap of time seperation since we parted from our beloved alma mater St.Francis, I never expected today we're still talking and laughing excactly like we used to. Moreover no one had really changed in appearance, except me. Slimmer. hehe.

By the way its great to meet up each other after a long time of separation - each living own's life barely contacting each other. I suddenly remember what Conilia once said to me, that she was quite sad to leave SFI. In fact everyone does. All of us used to be close friends and we share lots of great memory. But time doesn't allow and we have to depart for each's journey of life.

Don't let time to tarnish the friendship between us. Friendz Forever!!!

Every rings of friendship that we belongs to throughout our life would end someday, and a new rings always form. Hence we should appreciate all our friends. Often, we don't realize how much our friend could mean to us, until the time that we need to depart draws near. Only by then we feel reluctant and start to appreciate his or her presence.

A New Melaka, or An Outdated Me?

The Historical Theme Park
There are a tonnes of changes in Melaka recently which I don't actually realized until I tour Micheal, Andy and Abang (my Sarawakian friends) around. I am not much like a tourist too I think when I marveled trough the sea of tourists which flooded the entire Stadthuys, Clock Tower, Chirst Church, and Jonker Street. I have to agree with what Andy said, Banda Hilir is like a histocrical theme park! Since all the historical monuments and tourist attractions like the Menara Taming Sari, Boat-ride, etc is confined within one small region, even the shopping malls for the locals are in the same region, and I am proud to announce that my formal secondary school St.Francis Institution, is just right in the middle! Well I'll roughly introduce a few new places worth to visit.

Near the clock tower. Really flooded by tourists.

Jonker street.

Out door bar at Jonker.
Tourists grabbing goods as if they are free at "San Shu Gong",
a shop that sells local delicacies at Jonker.

The newly built Dataran Sungai Melaka (next to QuaySide) has probably turned out to be one of the most attractive site, and I rate it as "unique" because it had successfully transforms the smelly and polluted Sungai Melaka into a scenic yard with picturesque scenery especially during sunset, but still it is smelly as ever. By the way Andy rate is as "romantic". The Kincir Air replica, the rebuilt forts and the beautiful lamp posts that torched alongside the river further enhance the scene. In addition, there is a Boat Ride to tour around the smelly Sungai Melaka, with fancy boats and a narrator to explain about the river. Too sad we don't get to ride as it rained heavily.

Night view at Sungai Melaka. The river cruise could be seen at the back.
At the far end is the Eye of Malaysia.

Andy at the side of river.

The Maritime Museum in the replica of a Portuguese ship.

A few steps from the Dataran River take you to the rows of museums. There are at least 8 to 10 museums in a row. Among those Tortura (next to gate of A'Famosa) is the 1 that stands out. It is a temporary museum (until February) that exhibits medieval instruments of torturing and killing people. The entrance is kinda creepy like the Ghost House in Genting, coupled with medieval choir as ambient musics. RM10 per entrance but worthy and I rate it as "informatively traumatic" as you'll be perfectly stunned with the cruelty and demonic acts of the past human and sigh for the agony suffered by those victims. Micheal rate it as "spiritual and possessed", as for those exhibits might be real. Often we would tend to contemplate on our own fate after watching those, on how lucky are we to be born in the modern society, despite the painful fact that some legal authority still practice the act of torturing secretly.

The entrance to Tortura. Looks creepy.

Osim message chair? No way its a chair with thousand spikes.

The Human Saw. The Victims are hung upside-down, with their leg spread apart, then 2 executors would hold each end of the saw and cut the victim into 2 slowly. In great agony, victim would slowly die when the saw reach the lung.

Andy, Micheal and Abang are just too lucky to choose the right date out to visit Melaka. Not only the weather is nice, but exaclty on the 26th - 28th there is a Cultural Art and Performance being carried out on a few spots in Banda Hilir, the so called "theme park". It was my first time to see such a weird performance also. There is a sound system playing music, and a performer soloing some artistic dance. Perhaps it is too abstract for us to understand. The performer shout, scream, do funny faces, etc. Some act which I recognized as "mad". By the way it do attracts crowds of people to watch.
Spider man? An art performer from the Austrailia.

"Melaka! Melakaaa!!! my Me....lakahhhh!" He is trying to express something but we don't underdstand.
Looks like he is proposing to the fort.

Another performer from Sumatera.
He is pouring flour on himself.

Next I bring them hike up the famous St.Paul Hills - the place where you could see the entire Banda Hilir. The ruins of St. Paul Church are there too. From the hill then you could really evaluate how much Banda Hilir is like "theme park". Musics are anywhere, probably played by the trishaws' loud speaker. Groups of tourists, thousands of them, and streams of beautifully decorated trashaws filled the entire city. There you could see the Eye of Malaysia (a huge Ferry's Wheel) and the soaring high Menara Taming Sari, a revolving tower, sort of a mini KL tower. I bring them to have a ride in the tower and they queued up terribly long.Abang and Micheal at the staircase up to St.Paul Hill.
Really a tired day after walking for the whole day.

A view from the Hill with tourists queueing up to reach the hill.
A hotel is in construction at the far end.

The Menara Taming Sari as seen from the hill.
It takes the shape of the Keris of Taming Sari and therefore its name.

During late night there is still some places of interest - The Jetty, just behind Mahkota Parrade. Well I would not say it is a tourist attraction, but somehow it is unique and attracts many night-life people. It is a 400m long building extending to the sea. There are K-box as many as 60 rooms, Pool games and snookers, Cyber Cafe, restaurants, etc all above the sea. At the end it is the floating cafe and K-box, where you can sing, and have meals in the open air and open sea. There is a night club and dance club too at the beginning. Andy and Micheal rate it as "heavenly entertaining" since everything is available within 1 place while Abang rate it as "unique and beautiful"

Eye of Malaysia as seen from The Jetty. Beautifully illuminated.

Craziest Jam
Imagine this situation: It had been 20 minutes yet you barely drove a few meters away. Certainly for some hot-tempered person this would be a nerve-stretching process but what can you do? It is helpless. Even pedestrians on their foot are much faster, they walk pass your car swiftly with great ease. This certainly prompt you to abandon your vehicle to join the stream of pedestrians, or maybe bang them hard with your car to release some tension? Well, it took me some 30 minuted to reach Mahkota Parade from QuaySide, which translates to around 500 meters. Its tedious for the jam alone, and the monstrous nightmare complements the jam perfectly when it comes to parking. All the slots are fully occupied and there is no way for you to park your vehicle. And thanks to the road next to new Newton being sealed off (for some pasar malam thingy), I have to take another 30 minutes joining the almost static traffic just to turn around Mahkota Parade to reach the parking near the Jetty. What a "long" journey!!!

A Finishing Touch, A New Journey. 1st year 1st.

Life is always full of ups and downs, and the bittersweets that color our moments.
Sometimes it was super fast, yet it could be dreadfully long. Well my exams are just over marking the end of this semester. It is really damn fast that 1 sem had already passed just like this without realizing that I had actually managed to "survive" in UTP for one year plus. That day I heard the Petronas anthem which suddenly dug out some nostalgic momory. It reminded me of the very 1st day when I came to UTP for MAS as a freshy. Its still vivid as if they were just happened yesterday. I still remember the moment when I bit farewell to mom and dad when I was in the chancellor hall attending the opening ceremony. That time I wished that I never come to UTP. I wasn't used to.

1st Day in UTP. That time I weight a lot more than now!

The registration period. Still remember the background music?
It is playing in my mind right now though it's just a picture.

Things had changed ever since, with the magic of time. For each sem to come my homesickness lessens. I was packing alone in my room V2a-114 that day and unknowingly some emotions come to play, but it is mild. Perhaps I was alone and tend to contemplate. The atmosphere was so lonely and filled with emptiness, maybe the rain outside could claim this special effects. But I don't understand why. I am suppose to feel happy and
easy since I get to go home but my steps are heavy as I know I'll gonna miss my room so much. Whatever it is, I realized that I had already made UTP my second home (though I prefer my real home). I had adapted to the new environment, and have a new circle of friends. I'd learnt to appreciate friendship and what is called true friends. Nonetheless, there is a new me too. You got no idea how much I had changed just in 1 year plus.

Well everything is over, for the time being. What I could do is just having some flashbacks.
I would be missing these few things: my super free time table, EDX24, the swimming pool and all the kaki-renang (Aaron, Alex, Jun Yi, Kuo Chun, Pau, etc) which I hope they still on next sem, and some funny and unforgettable moments with my friends.

With this kinda time table without even a single lab session I concluded that it is the "freeiest" sem we had ever had. As for the coming sems I would gonna miss the swimming pool and Chinese Orchestra definitely.

On Thursday I don't even have a single class.
Is it way too relaxing? While I see my Roommate who is doing EE is kinda hectic. Hehe.

"SteamBloat" @ Kampar having a trio Bday celebration:
Leon, Beldon and Chang Yi.

EDX24 (Engineering Design Exhibition) had been my focus event this semester. And I am really tired of designing as there are too much that I had done. Below are some sample of them. BTW this sem I had a very nice HOD which is very unique to other HODs. And I'd finally found the person that can work very well with me especially when doing designs.
EDX Tshirt That I design. 100% own artwork no source images (expect the fonts).
BTW it is far too fancy to be EDX shirt, and some people dont like it. Art is subjective as it looks differently in different people.

EDX Teaser Wallpaper. I did it without any reference and without borrowing images from Google. 100% own idea and artwork.

Inspired by some graffiti arts. But it doesn't seems 1 at all since I drew these out themed on futuristics.

Thats all for this post.

Bad luck.

*SIGH*
There is nothing much to start off but to give a big sigh.
Haih. Why am I having such a bad luck!?

My bike lost.
New bike key snapped.
Car key jammed.
Goggle stripe snaps.
Room key lost.
-it all happened on the same day-

Additional bad luck:
After I asked Robert to smash the old bike lock (coz the key snapped), and had bought a new one, Mei Foong suddenly told me that Cheryl is having the spare key.
Aiks!!!

KEY - Why you hate me so badly???
Haih.

Yet Another Mid-sem Break

Tropicana Mall's toilet bowl basin.

Well lets start off with a lil joke here. Guess what, I saw this in Tropicana Mall yesterday and thought that it was a toilet bowl until I realized that there is a mirror in front! Well I can't imagine what would happen if there is such a toilet bowl with a mirror like that! xp. In fact that is a basin designed for kids.

Its quite surprising that I updated my blog quite early. Maybe its holiday?
But my mid-term holidays is always quite a busy one. Lots of "appointments" with family and friends. I've been nearly a week in Melaka AND I didnt get to swim yet! My movements are getting awkward. Noo!!! Am I too addicted to swimming? Lol. But it's a good thing. Many people said that I've slimmed down quite a lot. Ehe... ^^

Yen Hua and Pei Ying and family visited Melaka. Sadly I really can't make it to meet them since I have my cousin's wedding dinner to attend. Really busy. Then, Its farewel dinner for Ong Yi. Dear Ong Yi, I wish for you all the best while you persueing your studies in London. Keep in touch bro!!! We'll miss you badly.

Family Photo. (mom's side). The pretty bride is my cousin. Among all the lengzai lenglui I'm the short wan. Lolz.
Grand - I've been observing the interior design of the ball room closely. Classically beautiful with soft lighting effects.

My younger sister, youngest sister, me and bro.
Elegant - My sisters did some makeups and looks really different.

Me and my youngest sister.
Sleepy - both of us left our eyelid half-closed.

Genting!!!
Finally its my 1 day trip to Genting. I'll share some of it with you guys while waiting the photos to be uploaded in Facebook by the others. Though I've been to Genting for lots of time, it's still quite a different experience indeed to go with my fellow UTP-ian friends. And yeah, I've finally completed all the thrills in Genting! Though we ended up queueing up more than playings. I've finally ride the Cockscrew red roller coaster and the Flying Coaster which I've long wanted to ride. However it was not as thrilling as I imagined. *proud* Oh by the way, really thanks a lot to you guys for calling me joining the trip, and getting the ticket for us. Esp Mel who came all the way from Klang to KL just for that ticket. Really appreciate that and sorry for the trouble. BTW, I really enjoyed the trip. =)

The Cable Car.
Moves and disappear into the thinck mists.

RedRollerCoaster - Cockscrew.
I got to ride it finally! Not that thrilling by the way. =)

Spaceshot. One should try this out if wanna feel the greatest thrill in Genting.
It shot us to heaven, then hell immediately.

Man in red.

=D
Shu Wei warning someone? haha...In fact she forget to fasten the buckle.

B4 playing the donut boat. That lil kid is so cute and funny when he acted so mature.

Kong with his funny expression that caused most of us laughed in front of our PC when FB-ing.
Really funny. The discussion ends at 4am. lol.

Group photo says cheeze! from left:
Daphnee's sis, Daphnee, Mellissa, ShuWei, Mei Foong, Cheryl, Yik Chieng,
ChooKok, Johnathan, me and Kong.

On that night I stayed in Chee Hong's house. Though he claimed that his house is small, that doesn't matter at all, as long as he is willing to keep me for that single night. Thanks Chee Hong for the stay. =)

Oh, my assignments are piling up and tests are approaching. While I still have a mountains of EDX and Toastmaster stuffs to be settled within this week. Aiks. Time to offline and get into some serious business - sleeping. =p

Missing Those Days....

Time seems to fly and I didn't even realized that half a semester is already gone. I still clearly remember the day I went to STE. Really missed those days. Miss the cooling river that I used to swim daily. Miss the 60 bucks that I found at the bottom of the river. Also not forgetting of knowing a bunch of crazy but nice seniors. lolx esp Simon and Wan Sin. By the way something special in my life also happened but I decided not to mention about it. It will however remain forever as a meaningful dream of yesternight in me and as time passed...

Life when got back to UTP hostel.
My new block has separated me with the rest of the gang. So definitely I have less time hanging out with them as what I did last 2 semesters in foundation. I start to miss all those things I used to do:
-hanging and loitering in other's room. Esp Chai Shing and Leon.
-Timmy's Cello
-Micheal's and Yeo's crazy shouts. Lol u guys rox!
-Futsal and badminton.
-Eating out in Tronoh, used to be a daily routine.
-Oh ya playing Dota and counterstrike,
-and Finally also not forgetting about eating Chai Shing's food. Hehe...
-Aiks...and also ponteng class. Lolx. Now I cut it off already.

Oh yea new look of my room:
I think it is very neat and well organize =p
This is the original look. I didnt clean it up before I snap the picture.

The table I use daily. Kinda small and messy actually. Not neat. Just like the wan in home.
The wooden table is extra.

What I call mini pantry. Its actually just a table with all the pantry stuff. Though I didnt cook anything before expect instant noodles. The white thingy below seems so cool yeah.

The view from door. I have a pile of food stock. Long time didn't stock in ed. The box belonged to Michelle. Hehe... The mini trash was useful indeed to house small rubbish temporary before I move them into a bigger wan below the wooden table.

Things changes as times passed. My thinking changes as time passed. I'd switched my course into Petroleum Geioscience. However I love my new course and new course mates now. The group is about 45 people. Somehow small but very much condusive compared to the PE which has more than 100. I love the rock and geology study as well. I treat it as the biology which I used to love, somehow rather the "biology" of the earth. Well, most importantly, I have an idle timetable ever! With Thursday's holiday.

As time passes by, I made more new friends.
This sem I've been much closer to Aaron and Ze Shen. Both are very talented guys. Multi-talented in fact. All thanks to swimming that met me with Aaron. He was an international swimmer and a professional musician with a very disciplined lifestyle. Probably the man known to sleep earliest in UTP . A guy with many principles perhaps, which probably gain lot's of my respect. Oh yeah, my swimming had been improving ever since, and now I was even asked by him to teach free strokes to some newbies if the swimming club is formed. I am really glad that my hard work was fruitful.

Though Aaron is very musically talented, I found Ze Shen also very impressive in his musical talent. He is those rare species that u could hardly find, with some incredibly precise and speedy tune recognition ability. Perfect pitched, we called. He is one of the best pianist I have ever seen, other than playing the violin and saxophone and etc. I am learning from him how to play chords in an impromptu manner. The grand style. But it was hard for me.

Quarantined!

WHAT A COINCIDENCE? or July just happen to be my BLACK month?
23th of July 2008 (2nd week of my foundation 1st sem.) I was quarantined a week home due to measles, also caused by a virus similar to flu virus. Again this year, 25th of July 2009 (also the 2nd week of my degree 1st year 1st sem) I got quarantined for a week due to suspected flu symptoms. It is even more coincident when UTP is CLOSED for a week, just excalty at the day when my MC expired (the day I am supposed to return back to UTP). Thus, another week off at home and hence, I have a total of 2 continuous weeks of "holidays".

CONVO and EDX PNP vs quarantined.
This sem I have been offered to hold the PNP HOD post for various events. But I haven decided whether to take or not, in fact I am really busy. Especially with convofair. BTW it was just so unlucky that I got quarantined and was unable to perform during that peak week. Worse still UTP is closed down for the following week. I have no chance to work for Convo at all though I wanted to! BTW EDX PnP is going quite smoothly even when UTP is closed. All thanks to the internet. We have all our discussions (all-time meeting in fact) in googlegroup. Very very effective and now many rough designs and ideas have been came out. I really feel the achievements we have done. Really thx to Chee Hong for having such a brilliant idea, as well as other committees with thier commitment. I am quite surprized that actually Mel is quite good in designing, and Ze Shen is picking up fast in Photoshop too.

Meaningful Reunion
Yeah, I've visited Ong Yi and his family yesterday (wednessday). Early in the morning 7.30 a.m. they picked me up at my house and we went to Tiara Resort to jog and swim. I really like the olympic-sized swimming pool there, and the environment is simply rejuvenating. Then in the afternoon Ong Yi's mom treated us in Kokkiya, a Japanese restaurant. Tang Xin Yi was invited there with her mom too, and Ong Yi's dad. Xin Yi was having "quarantined" holiday as well, as MHS was shut down a week too. We have a great time having many conversations. Later we went back to Ong Yi's appartment. I watched some documentaries about the Sukuji Market. Suddenly Xin Yi's mom came over and ask me to have a vaccination. So Ong Yi and I walked to Xin Yi's house and Dr Tang Injected us. Really thankful to the Tangs for that! I went home after that. Also really thankful that Ong Yi's mom had planned so much for us. Thanks!!!

Leaving Melaka soon....

Past Memory - Digimon Drawings

I suddenly found something that I'd totally forgotten long time ago from the hide of my book rack, deep in between boxes of old papers - an old and crumby envelope. Swiftly I grabbed it and was quite exited...oh yeah, still heavy as it is some 8 years ago. The condition was good, not eaten by insects. Slowly I opened the cover and took out its content. Whoala...still there! some 30 masterpieces of Digimons that I'd drew when I was in standard 5 and I'd forgotten them totally. I flipped through the old and crumpled papers piece by piece in great details, with great exitement, hardly believing that I'd actually drew them! Flash back occur as each pieces showed up...back to the time while I was in my formal house in Desa Baru, my grandpa house and my life in primary school. That time was the Digi-world. I used to love them so much and was a crazy fan. Well, that also reminded me of playing hide-and-seek with my dad, whom I dare not let him know that I'm actually drawing those as he'll probably got angry as for him, doing such are a waste of time. Still I remembered he'd confiscated my Digimon book where I refered and drew from. And how pathetic was I that day...those pieces were drawn in all types of papers: envelop, small memo, back of unused printed papers, scrap papers, but not A4 or art paper! This signifies something: I dare not even go and steal my dad's A4 paper and I am still clear about that! That's why I am drawing in whatever paper available that time...

To make these poor papers and my art work eternal I've decided to scan them and convert into soft copy, and I've uploaded them to some servers.

These are some of the pieces. (The complete set is in my facebook)

My favorite, solely it is a fish. I have affinity towards fishes...
