Missing Those Days....

Time seems to fly and I didn't even realized that half a semester is already gone. I still clearly remember the day I went to STE. Really missed those days. Miss the cooling river that I used to swim daily. Miss the 60 bucks that I found at the bottom of the river. Also not forgetting of knowing a bunch of crazy but nice seniors. lolx esp Simon and Wan Sin. By the way something special in my life also happened but I decided not to mention about it. It will however remain forever as a meaningful dream of yesternight in me and as time passed...

Life when got back to UTP hostel.
My new block has separated me with the rest of the gang. So definitely I have less time hanging out with them as what I did last 2 semesters in foundation. I start to miss all those things I used to do:
-hanging and loitering in other's room. Esp Chai Shing and Leon.
-Timmy's Cello
-Micheal's and Yeo's crazy shouts. Lol u guys rox!
-Futsal and badminton.
-Eating out in Tronoh, used to be a daily routine.
-Oh ya playing Dota and counterstrike,
-and Finally also not forgetting about eating Chai Shing's food. Hehe...
-Aiks...and also ponteng class. Lolx. Now I cut it off already.

Oh yea new look of my room:
I think it is very neat and well organize =p
This is the original look. I didnt clean it up before I snap the picture.

The table I use daily. Kinda small and messy actually. Not neat. Just like the wan in home.
The wooden table is extra.

What I call mini pantry. Its actually just a table with all the pantry stuff. Though I didnt cook anything before expect instant noodles. The white thingy below seems so cool yeah.

The view from door. I have a pile of food stock. Long time didn't stock in ed. The box belonged to Michelle. Hehe... The mini trash was useful indeed to house small rubbish temporary before I move them into a bigger wan below the wooden table.

Things changes as times passed. My thinking changes as time passed. I'd switched my course into Petroleum Geioscience. However I love my new course and new course mates now. The group is about 45 people. Somehow small but very much condusive compared to the PE which has more than 100. I love the rock and geology study as well. I treat it as the biology which I used to love, somehow rather the "biology" of the earth. Well, most importantly, I have an idle timetable ever! With Thursday's holiday.

As time passes by, I made more new friends.
This sem I've been much closer to Aaron and Ze Shen. Both are very talented guys. Multi-talented in fact. All thanks to swimming that met me with Aaron. He was an international swimmer and a professional musician with a very disciplined lifestyle. Probably the man known to sleep earliest in UTP . A guy with many principles perhaps, which probably gain lot's of my respect. Oh yeah, my swimming had been improving ever since, and now I was even asked by him to teach free strokes to some newbies if the swimming club is formed. I am really glad that my hard work was fruitful.

Though Aaron is very musically talented, I found Ze Shen also very impressive in his musical talent. He is those rare species that u could hardly find, with some incredibly precise and speedy tune recognition ability. Perfect pitched, we called. He is one of the best pianist I have ever seen, other than playing the violin and saxophone and etc. I am learning from him how to play chords in an impromptu manner. The grand style. But it was hard for me.

Quarantined!

WHAT A COINCIDENCE? or July just happen to be my BLACK month?
23th of July 2008 (2nd week of my foundation 1st sem.) I was quarantined a week home due to measles, also caused by a virus similar to flu virus. Again this year, 25th of July 2009 (also the 2nd week of my degree 1st year 1st sem) I got quarantined for a week due to suspected flu symptoms. It is even more coincident when UTP is CLOSED for a week, just excalty at the day when my MC expired (the day I am supposed to return back to UTP). Thus, another week off at home and hence, I have a total of 2 continuous weeks of "holidays".

CONVO and EDX PNP vs quarantined.
This sem I have been offered to hold the PNP HOD post for various events. But I haven decided whether to take or not, in fact I am really busy. Especially with convofair. BTW it was just so unlucky that I got quarantined and was unable to perform during that peak week. Worse still UTP is closed down for the following week. I have no chance to work for Convo at all though I wanted to! BTW EDX PnP is going quite smoothly even when UTP is closed. All thanks to the internet. We have all our discussions (all-time meeting in fact) in googlegroup. Very very effective and now many rough designs and ideas have been came out. I really feel the achievements we have done. Really thx to Chee Hong for having such a brilliant idea, as well as other committees with thier commitment. I am quite surprized that actually Mel is quite good in designing, and Ze Shen is picking up fast in Photoshop too.

Meaningful Reunion
Yeah, I've visited Ong Yi and his family yesterday (wednessday). Early in the morning 7.30 a.m. they picked me up at my house and we went to Tiara Resort to jog and swim. I really like the olympic-sized swimming pool there, and the environment is simply rejuvenating. Then in the afternoon Ong Yi's mom treated us in Kokkiya, a Japanese restaurant. Tang Xin Yi was invited there with her mom too, and Ong Yi's dad. Xin Yi was having "quarantined" holiday as well, as MHS was shut down a week too. We have a great time having many conversations. Later we went back to Ong Yi's appartment. I watched some documentaries about the Sukuji Market. Suddenly Xin Yi's mom came over and ask me to have a vaccination. So Ong Yi and I walked to Xin Yi's house and Dr Tang Injected us. Really thankful to the Tangs for that! I went home after that. Also really thankful that Ong Yi's mom had planned so much for us. Thanks!!!

Leaving Melaka soon....

Past Memory - Digimon Drawings

I suddenly found something that I'd totally forgotten long time ago from the hide of my book rack, deep in between boxes of old papers - an old and crumby envelope. Swiftly I grabbed it and was quite exited...oh yeah, still heavy as it is some 8 years ago. The condition was good, not eaten by insects. Slowly I opened the cover and took out its content. Whoala...still there! some 30 masterpieces of Digimons that I'd drew when I was in standard 5 and I'd forgotten them totally. I flipped through the old and crumpled papers piece by piece in great details, with great exitement, hardly believing that I'd actually drew them! Flash back occur as each pieces showed up...back to the time while I was in my formal house in Desa Baru, my grandpa house and my life in primary school. That time was the Digi-world. I used to love them so much and was a crazy fan. Well, that also reminded me of playing hide-and-seek with my dad, whom I dare not let him know that I'm actually drawing those as he'll probably got angry as for him, doing such are a waste of time. Still I remembered he'd confiscated my Digimon book where I refered and drew from. And how pathetic was I that day...those pieces were drawn in all types of papers: envelop, small memo, back of unused printed papers, scrap papers, but not A4 or art paper! This signifies something: I dare not even go and steal my dad's A4 paper and I am still clear about that! That's why I am drawing in whatever paper available that time...

To make these poor papers and my art work eternal I've decided to scan them and convert into soft copy, and I've uploaded them to some servers.

These are some of the pieces. (The complete set is in my facebook)

My favorite, solely it is a fish. I have affinity towards fishes...

Still remember the process of drawing this creature...
among the hardest.

Flaming bird...duno wat mon is this la...

Proof: can see the prining behind?
Traces of my primary school's badge on the top.

Another printed papers. Still have the traces of words.

Among the 1st Digimon I drawn. This initiated me to draw the rest.

V-mon. My last piece. Also lost the mood to draw dy...

Protagonist in the Digimon Anime.

Poorly mantained. Also among the 1st Digimon that I'd drawn.

Racing againts the time: still remember I was drawing this on
the glass table around 6pm like that
when my dad was away.

KL Outting

It was indeed one of the best outing I had ever had...and really glad that I am blessed with so many friends that colors my life. As soon as I reached KLCC, I stopped by Kinoukuniya - a routine whenever I came to Suria, and visited the Japanese section. Lots of Japanese are there and is like a mini Japan. Cool. Then I met up with Rainbow there and returned her her charger. She came alone all the way from Taylor Subang just for this...so we had some conversations. Not long after, Henry called me and ask me to met him up in the station. So I left Kinoukuniya and too bad we can't had lunch together.

1st day - MPO
Weeks before, Henry asked me join them to watch a chamber performance from MPO (Malaysian Philharmornic Orchestra) in KLCC. Then I see a good oppoturnity to join the bunch of talented people, perhaps we can exchange knowledge and have a nice conversation over musical thingy. Here are the people and their respective instruments (celloist seems to dominate):

Henry - pro-Piano, Cello, Double Bass
Zhe Shen - Piano, Violin, saxophone
Shu Wei - Cello, Piano, Violin
Denson - Er Hu
Mellissa - Cello
Timmy - Cello
Philip - Cello
Yun Chuan - Piano, Er Hu
Xuan Hui - Cello, Piano
Robert - Flute
Aamir - saxophone
Chee Hong - saxophone

We entered the Dewan Filharmonic Petronas and I was quite fastinatied by the design...damn grand espeially the pipe organ that stands elegantly around 16 feets high in the wall! However the chamber performance is perhaps too artistic and contemporary for me to understand...The melody they played are strange to normal ears and I didn't get them at all. First was a duet, between a clarintist and a violinist with a pianoist doing the accompaniment. Not bad and they musician looks so elegant and noble. Next came the cello soloist, nervous and a bit uneasy. But she did quite well finally. Among those, it was the first time for me to see a Marimba and Tuba being played in a duet. The Marimba is like a xylophones with pipes, and a women played it with 4 sticks. The last performance was a duet of piano and violin. Again I don't really hear music in the entire repertoire.

My first Nando's. How pathecic...

Back row from left: Zhe Shen, Henry, Philip, Chee Hong
Front row from left: Mellissa, Christon, Denson, me, Timmy, Robert, Yun Chuan,
Shu Wei, Xuan Hui

A glance of the Dewan Filharmonic Petronas. Design that really won my heart.

Soon after the performance we go around the complexes nearby: Plaza Low Yat and Times Square. Just walked around. Then I joined Chee Hong for dinner, along with Robert, Xuan Hui and Aamir. His generous dad treated all of us in a vegeratarian retaurant and I enjoyed the food there so much. In the car I realised that Chee Hong's family is from the SGM (Sokagakai Malaysia) which is of the same religion group with my mom. They are so surprized and happy upon knowing that my mom was from SGM and suddenly asked me a lots of questions.

I stayed in Zhe Shen's house that night. Days before Mel did ask me if to joined them skating in Sunway Pyramid, so after discussing the plans for the next day I decided to go Sunway. Shu Wei arranged all the transportation for us. After that I didn't sleep quite early as we (me and Zhe Shen) played Plant VS Zombies in his laptop until late midnight while Robert laid flat like roti canai in the bed! We discussed all kinda strategies, yet failed to withstand 30 streaks! No idea what was the time when we went to bed...

Second day - Sunway Pyramid
I woke up early 8 o clock. Shu Wei send me to Jelatek LRT station while sending Robert to Pudu with Zhe Shen. Cheryl waited me in the LRT station and I follewed her to Sunway pyramid to met with the Klang group - Mel, Timmy and Denson. Then 5 of us went to an Italian restaurant. Damn expensive and not so nice the food there. Cheryl complained of having diarrhoea after having the spaghetti the next day. After that we went ice skating...truely remarkable and enjoyable but I falled a few times. It was my second time skating...and the first was years ago in Japan. Timmy and Cheryl said that I learned quite fast, but still I have to thanks to them for teaching me. Skated until my legs and hand became ached after a few hours...coz keep grabbing people's hand when I am about to fall. Then we went Starbuck and I had my first Starbuck coffee...albeit it costed me a fortune I enjoyed that very much. Soon after I followed Cheryl back to KL then had instant noodle in Zhe Shen's house for dinner because I had spent too much that evening!
2nd time skating....

KL-trekking
Last day Zhe Shen and I went to KTG cenima. My first time. We watched Terminator the Salvation. Not bad but was quite different from the previous Terminator film. After the movie we went KL-treking. It was a bit crazy as we walked from KLCC to Pudu! But it was a nice route as we snaked through many complexes around KL and I get to see many things. We ate in small stalls around CheeChongKai. I finally went into the bus and leave KL around 6.30pm. Snoozed off in the bus...

Thanks friends for all the treats!

What a Black Week.

My holidays started off with a black week, despite of the visit of my former Johorian PLKN friends. Black indeed with many unlucky events happen in a chain-reaction manner. It goes like this:

3rd day of the visit
Jayson and Alan were the only 2 people left in Melaka. Rainbow, Winson and Ah Yang already went back to Selangor to each respective colleges. So we decided to spent our last evening in Shi Tien's tart shop. Being so unlucky my family's Camry can't be started so I used my 30 years-old car instead. I fetched Ann Xiang and off we go. Half way near the general hospital, the doctor called Ann Xiang for emergency, notifying that his dad's cancer is in a very critical condition and will be gone any time. Imediately he asked me to turned back to the hospital but suddenly my car can't move at all and got STUCKED at the traffic light! Blocking off the traffic and soon to cause a jam! I bacame so nervous and totally helpless seing Ann Xiang's anxious face. Pity him that he ran all the way to the hospital while I keep stopping the traffic so that Jayson and Alan can push the car aside. We did it finally. Then we walked to the hospital, around 500m afar, and met up with Ann Xiang. We also called Shi Tien and he came too. Ann Xiang said that the doctor had made an incision in his dad's chest to allow water came out from the lung, to ease him solely not to cure. I really feel sorry to him but Ann Xiang was a tough guy. He faced it bravely.

Laptop Trouble troubles police in its wake.
Day after thier visits, my laptop couldn't load a single shit in the screen. The power came, but the processor didnt run at all. So a few days after, I brought my laptop to one dealer shop in Melaka Raya to diagnose the problem. Then it was the extra RAM that failed. The BIG trouble is yet to come. I drove my family's Camry and decided to go buy the RAM in other shop. While I was on my way I saw a police car going after me....OMG damn it. The police ask me to stop aside. I was alone that time and become anxious. They told me I taken the wrong direction in the one-way road. They said my "P" liceinse will gone with the RM300 summon they are about to issue. Then I begged them to "tutup satu mata" but they refused and had took my IC and lisence away. They said: "MACAM MANA nak tutup satu mata....?" I got thier meaning. and also something that can save my "P". Finally I said: "Kasih selesai kat luar la bang...jangan susahkan saya" they said: "berapa RATUS lu nak selesai? cepat lah. panas kat sini tau," in a very unfriendly and threatening tone. I simply quoted "seratus". But again BAD LUCK. Only left RM12 in my wallet. Again I don't know what to do at the moment. Kinda anxious. Then I told them I need to go to nearest CIMB take money. They followed me. Guest what's next? I LOST my bank card! Damn it and I become like a madman and started to worry that people will withdraw all my thousands of bucks in my account. I ran to a CIMB bank 300m afar and wanna to stop my card while kept the police waiting there. Damn it the bank CLOSED. WTH....I begun to worry that the police might get pissed off. I knocked at the office side door...and the guard responded. Then I ask 1 officer inside to stop my bank card while cracking my head of how to obtain 100 bucks. Suddenly it turned out to be so lucky and ironic, that I saw my uncle walking down the stairs...I borrowed 50 bucks and gave to the police. They return my IC and license then and the case settled.

Well what's over is over. Life is like a chocolate, sometimes it tastes sweet, sometimes it tastes bitter. My next agenda: MPO @ KLCC. I assume it should be a nice trip though...Henry and Xuan Hui will be there too.

Updated!

3 inches thick of dust...
3 kilos of spider webs...
3 months old of fungus...

I have no idea how long my blog had been abandoned until today. Anyway I am back...
How should I get started?

#Lets talk about something in the recent - the mid sem break:
I don't really get to relax as usual for this holiday because my sister had a meningitis (Inflammation of the meninges, or the brain membrane, due to viruses, bacteria or fungus. For her case is unfortunately viruses). Thank God that she had been recovered these few days and left only her double vision. Anyway it is progressing each day...what a relief!

#Now lets move on...MMU DEBATE!
First thing that startled me is the superb achievement of Kong! BRAVO!
Congratulation!!! It is way too far to anticipate that he could even beat all the rounds and feed backs to become one of the 6 adjudicators for the final round of MMU national debate competition. The main thing is, he came as a spectator...and got chosen on that day itself to be a judge! (I come, I see, I conquer) xp, it sounds so much like this to me^^ I am glad that I've offer him a place to sleep while he can concentrate on his adjudications...
Anyway I admit that I don't have the talent in debate at all...so I marvel those guys who are good in debate.

#Es freut mich, Sie kennen zu lernen, Herr Ludwig
Nice to meet you, Mr Ludwig. It was such a surprize and pleasure that Desmond brought his guest Ludwig to home visit me, on the 21/3. Along with them are Han Way and Fong Ling. Letr I get to know that Fong Ling is my sister's fomal senior in STPM. Nice to meet you^^. Ludwig is from German and is 17. We had a long conversation, in English definately. Anyhow, I suddenly recalled the moment when Megumi and Mai was sitting on the very same chair that Ludwig was sitting. What a nostalgic memory...
The second say we went to Han Way's house for a special lunch by his mom. We play cards then...sort of chinese new year feeling. I learned Romnace de Amour on guitar on that day.

#Swimming Fever
"wind your body
wriggle your belly"

Now I seems to realize why Heng Jia Shen suddenly become so enthused with swimming. Nevertheless, I am in his perspective now. As what he had proposed...I downloaded a Youtube clip that teaches me to swim butterfly stroke. It is really effective and I got the teaching. Now could move like a torpedo in the water! (ignoring my stamina) Hehehe...

#Ok now something about Photoshop again:
I've discovered a way recently on how to create 2D vector graphics (requested upon Rotaract's badge design). Seriously cool and efficient and less time consuming...this idea was inspired from my amateur 3D modeling skill...
No longer I need a software such as Inkscape or Corel Draw for assistance, nor Cheryl's Black Prince for breaking my limitation. By the simple means of merging, subtracting and intersecting geometries, it opened up the door to create all sorts of 2D vector graphics!! Yes of course...basic photoshop skills such as modifying selection, transformations and so on are needed. Anyone who are interested to learn do not hesitate to inform me...I would post a tutorial...or teach you personally. God gave me such a talent, therefore I shall be grateful and bless the others with this special gift =p.

These are 2 of my recently produced artwork:

Vector Graphics have sharp defined edges. All in Photoshop.

Starcraft Lurker drawn by using HP Pavilion.
Thx to Cheryl...

# 2 Good Games That I would introduce:-
-Left 4 dead:
This game is seriously kick-ass! I would rate it 9/10. Imagine horde of zombies running towards you while you shoot them down like falling domino. Blood spilled all over when their head exploded, limbs are broken and tear off. Plus, the sound effect and movie is so cinematic and kick-ass that it increases your hearth pace by 100%! Elements of suspens such as coming across the mourning WITCH, HUNTER and SMOKER will even scare you inside out! The WITCH is seriously damn-bloody God-damn 100 times scarier than any pontianak!!! Especially her cry, will make your goose bumps density 0.6k/cm2.

-World of Goo:
In great contrast to Left 4 Dead. World of Goo had greatly won my heart in terms of its creativity, sound tracks and brand new revolutionize game play, and high-resolution 2D graphics. This game is cute and it is a puzzle-solving game that had a strong emphasis in Physics. Anyway I had won all the levels in a relatively short time by my own. ^^
Building up a jelly Goo structure is often harder then expected.

#Oh yea when it comes to gaming...who wanna join me in developing a map for Warcraft?
Project name:
Melodic Sheep
Project description: By arranging the sheep in a horizontal row, musical notes will be played. This is how it works: each sheep represent different notes. When each sheep dies, their tones will be played. Distance between sheep represent rest. The sheep will be killed from left to right one after another....

Basic programming skills needed...for GUI-ers. 3D Max-er required. Coz in modeling, my skills in Lightwave is futile since warcraft is only taking graphics from 3D Max. If you know JassScript, then it is better. Jass is a higher level of programming that only Warcraft machine could understand. If you know the basic C or C++, then Jass is a piece of cake to you. =p
