Updated!

3 inches thick of dust...
3 kilos of spider webs...
3 months old of fungus...

I have no idea how long my blog had been abandoned until today. Anyway I am back...
How should I get started?

#Lets talk about something in the recent - the mid sem break:
I don't really get to relax as usual for this holiday because my sister had a meningitis (Inflammation of the meninges, or the brain membrane, due to viruses, bacteria or fungus. For her case is unfortunately viruses). Thank God that she had been recovered these few days and left only her double vision. Anyway it is progressing each day...what a relief!

#Now lets move on...MMU DEBATE!
First thing that startled me is the superb achievement of Kong! BRAVO!
Congratulation!!! It is way too far to anticipate that he could even beat all the rounds and feed backs to become one of the 6 adjudicators for the final round of MMU national debate competition. The main thing is, he came as a spectator...and got chosen on that day itself to be a judge! (I come, I see, I conquer) xp, it sounds so much like this to me^^ I am glad that I've offer him a place to sleep while he can concentrate on his adjudications...
Anyway I admit that I don't have the talent in debate at all...so I marvel those guys who are good in debate.

#Es freut mich, Sie kennen zu lernen, Herr Ludwig
Nice to meet you, Mr Ludwig. It was such a surprize and pleasure that Desmond brought his guest Ludwig to home visit me, on the 21/3. Along with them are Han Way and Fong Ling. Letr I get to know that Fong Ling is my sister's fomal senior in STPM. Nice to meet you^^. Ludwig is from German and is 17. We had a long conversation, in English definately. Anyhow, I suddenly recalled the moment when Megumi and Mai was sitting on the very same chair that Ludwig was sitting. What a nostalgic memory...
The second say we went to Han Way's house for a special lunch by his mom. We play cards then...sort of chinese new year feeling. I learned Romnace de Amour on guitar on that day.

#Swimming Fever
"wind your body
wriggle your belly"

Now I seems to realize why Heng Jia Shen suddenly become so enthused with swimming. Nevertheless, I am in his perspective now. As what he had proposed...I downloaded a Youtube clip that teaches me to swim butterfly stroke. It is really effective and I got the teaching. Now could move like a torpedo in the water! (ignoring my stamina) Hehehe...

#Ok now something about Photoshop again:
I've discovered a way recently on how to create 2D vector graphics (requested upon Rotaract's badge design). Seriously cool and efficient and less time consuming...this idea was inspired from my amateur 3D modeling skill...
No longer I need a software such as Inkscape or Corel Draw for assistance, nor Cheryl's Black Prince for breaking my limitation. By the simple means of merging, subtracting and intersecting geometries, it opened up the door to create all sorts of 2D vector graphics!! Yes of course...basic photoshop skills such as modifying selection, transformations and so on are needed. Anyone who are interested to learn do not hesitate to inform me...I would post a tutorial...or teach you personally. God gave me such a talent, therefore I shall be grateful and bless the others with this special gift =p.

These are 2 of my recently produced artwork:

Vector Graphics have sharp defined edges. All in Photoshop.

Starcraft Lurker drawn by using HP Pavilion.
Thx to Cheryl...

# 2 Good Games That I would introduce:-
-Left 4 dead:
This game is seriously kick-ass! I would rate it 9/10. Imagine horde of zombies running towards you while you shoot them down like falling domino. Blood spilled all over when their head exploded, limbs are broken and tear off. Plus, the sound effect and movie is so cinematic and kick-ass that it increases your hearth pace by 100%! Elements of suspens such as coming across the mourning WITCH, HUNTER and SMOKER will even scare you inside out! The WITCH is seriously damn-bloody God-damn 100 times scarier than any pontianak!!! Especially her cry, will make your goose bumps density 0.6k/cm2.

-World of Goo:
In great contrast to Left 4 Dead. World of Goo had greatly won my heart in terms of its creativity, sound tracks and brand new revolutionize game play, and high-resolution 2D graphics. This game is cute and it is a puzzle-solving game that had a strong emphasis in Physics. Anyway I had won all the levels in a relatively short time by my own. ^^
Building up a jelly Goo structure is often harder then expected.

#Oh yea when it comes to gaming...who wanna join me in developing a map for Warcraft?
Project name:
Melodic Sheep
Project description: By arranging the sheep in a horizontal row, musical notes will be played. This is how it works: each sheep represent different notes. When each sheep dies, their tones will be played. Distance between sheep represent rest. The sheep will be killed from left to right one after another....

Basic programming skills needed...for GUI-ers. 3D Max-er required. Coz in modeling, my skills in Lightwave is futile since warcraft is only taking graphics from 3D Max. If you know JassScript, then it is better. Jass is a higher level of programming that only Warcraft machine could understand. If you know the basic C or C++, then Jass is a piece of cake to you. =p

Photoshop, Lightwave and Sketchup....

Whole day gone, but the result is fruitful, especially to people like me who enjoy great satisfaction for my own work. I'd done my job as a PnP committee for this coming EDX. Though the design is fairly simple, but there is no means of ease. The below-shit-level internet connection is to be blamed. Finding a simple high resolution images also become unexpectedly tiring and torturing. Searching for a 3D model over the net also become very troublesome. Cause of the inadequacy of models, I'd drawn a few out by myself, such and the oil rig (SketchUp) and the Molecule model (LightWave3D). Some I'd just simply modified or combined. Anyway, I got no idea whether a mobile phone best symbolizes BIS, or whether it is even suitable for BIS. But I strongly oppose the wallpaper and banting designed for last sem's EDX. It used money to symbolized BIS, which I think is truly inappropriate. How do you think?

Starting off with the new sem! Hectic or Idle?

With the end of my joyful long holidays and CNY, here comes the start of my hectic semester of PE foundation. Being flung with tonnes of assignments, quizzes, projects, meetings, this la, that la...haiz...Have a look at my crazy time table:
Gilababi time table: Ideal or not? Mon and Tues'll gonna be tough, but Wed, Thurs and Fri will be so free! Haha classes will gonna end before 1pm! Could have more time for intensive revision, sports, leisure...a strategic approach I suppose...

This is my new room in the infamous Methana...I wanna say that now, Methaba really rocks! Especially when this famous catalyst name Ah Yeo presents in any reactions...
There are also a few others...
My new room which is an old room...water dispenser, table fan, meesy bed...

Playing with perspective: Tang Ren Jie or ChinaTown.
Look at those slippers and you'll probably know what is going on.

By the way, my life here in UTP is somehow quite interesting, in some ways...
I hereby summarise my experience here for the two weeks as follows
Here are some interesting facts:

The Terrible Scream/Shout
People do scream in Methana, when they got killed...in DotA or CS or etc...
People do shout for a simple reason of losing money...
People do laugh out REALLY loud when the jokers is going on with his tales and acts...
making fun of others...
ETC...

The Power of Toshiba
I bought some Thai Cuisines from Tesco as shown in the picture below, Pandan Chicken and the popiah-kind-of food. It is too cold to be consumed therefore I decided to heat it. No oven wor...how? Then I came out with this idea and it REALLY works! I placed it just after the cooling vent...and had one game of DotA. After the game I got my meal ready!
2 in 1: My laptop is capable of keeping a cup of coffee warm...no joke...

Raisins?
I went to KK's room and see this black thingy on his desk. He was playing DotA that time...
Upon being too boring...I came up with this hillarious and naughty idea...Quite Lolable.
Look at the picture below...what do you think they are? Dry seaweeds, chocolates or raisins?
They areactually crumpled papers...but I managed to fool deceive some of my friends to the extend that they'd actually put'em in thier mouth, before splitting it out and rape whack me...haha...

Yummilicious!

All Guys no Girls Make John a Dull Gay Boy
"So~ uninteresting" quoted by Madam Y.M.Chang on the 2th of Febuary 2009 8.23 p.m. I was having my very first English tutorial that time, and she is our tutor. She said that simply because there are not even half a female in this group! Lol...However the big gang is here, with Jeremy, Kong, KK, Chai Shing, Ah Wen, Kun Shum CY, CK, Timmy, etc etc...so~ uninteresting.

Call of Duty 2
By the way I'll be very busy soon...SPE is calling me as usual...and I got no idea about EDX yet, but I'll be working in the PnP department. This is my first EDX teaser ever created, designed upon request by Gosh when he interviewed me for the post.
EDX teaser: Truly a last minutes work but look quite proffesional ok...
Really just a few simple steps in Photoshop.

Into The 3D Realm

Well, have you ever wondered how Nemo is being animated, or Alex in Madagascar been created? 3D graphics had become very common and is dominating the digital world, in every aspect including film industry, engineering, gaming industry and much much more. Well for those who are interested in computer graphics, and would like to know more about the arts of 3D graphics, below are some pieces of information:

Well, Lets take an example, the table lamp which I'd created using LightWave 3D version 9:

Well, it looks real right? Exactly looks like a photo isn't it? Of coz la...it is just a photo of my table lamp! >.<

How about this? It takes me 2 days!

Creation of a 3D Graphics
All 3D graphics of an object is created via 3 fundamentals processes:
-Modeling
-Texturing
-Rendering

Modeling
3D object is made up of points, which is connected to form polygons. Groups of interconnected polygons then form the surfaces of the object. Digital 3D object is often regarded as model, and the work of creating it is known as modeling. Very complex modeling requires acquired skills which takes a long time to master.

Texturing

When a model is done, it is plain and has no texture on its surface. Therefore textures are applied through a technique known as UV mapping. Normally texture is created using other 2D software such as Adobe Photoshop.

Rendering
This is the most important process among all the others. Rendering in 3D means the process of aa (anti aliasing) and simulating the applied attribute of an object such as reflectiveness, specularity, transparency and so on into your 3D scene. Normaly a 3D scene or setup consist of 3D models, particles and light. The computer will try to simulate how the lights would be bent, reflected and bounces off surfaces thourgh ray tracing. Hence the object looks photo realistic. The output of rendering would be normally be an image or animation. A single-framed high resolution image would takes up to hours to render! And animations such as Finding Nemo consisted of millions of such frame and the rendering is done by super computers.
Notes: anti-aliased means to produce images with smooth edges without pixelated out.

Some screen shot of LightWave 3D Modeler:

Bad Badtz-Maru!

The name of this cute cartoon character which decorates my table lamp. It takes me 1 hours to model it, and another hour to texture and detailed its surfaces. Normally organic objects are harder to be created and even impossible to replicate the real object by 100%!

The initial work. An output of modeling- a complete sub-patched model. Looks like Clay!

wire-framed

Textured surfaces

Rendered. Surfaces shine with reflections.

The real Bad Badtz-Maru!!!

Can you notice the difference? The surface of the rendered lamp looks realistic, and consists of tiny bumps resembles the surface of a plastic (cant be seen).

The images below takes me only a few minutes to model out the geometrical objects but roughly 2 and a half hours to render!

Marbles and Cubes. Emphasized on lighting and surfacing. Highly anti-aliased.

My first production: The Golden Jar and Glass Rings.
Emphasized on Reflection and refraction of light.
Note: Original image is of high resolution.
Software: LightWave 3d, Photoshop.

Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year!!!!

Methana and Propana - A New Start

Methane and Propane

Methana - this is what I called my new home in UTP. I'll be stayinng in M-02-16, your freindly neighborhood!!! Anyway please don't expect some guy swinging here and there except for the UTP monkeys. Unexpectedly all da guys in the formal ethana block didn't happen to stay in V1. Reasons unknown. All of them reside in Propana and Metana instead. Future China town in UTP...
Whatever it is, here are the possible residents leng-zais in V6:

All the super-duper leng-zai in Methana: can you spot da special one???
-Click on the picture to see who have the most pimples!!!

Well, dun look only lah! Give some complement to this pro face hunter. Ahem. *winks*
This face leng-zai collection is not complete anyway, coz it is not easy to find all leng-zais' faces. You should know la there is a lots of hides in UTP! So I appologized to those leng-zais whose faces are face is not in. If you wanna keep you may do so but give credit la. Haha...

*yawn*

WORSTEST year!

Crazy me and Chang Yi ridiculously went all the way back to the famous UTP just to register our room in the infamous V6, then planed to tour around KL for a pathetic half day and go back to hometown Melaka. However all my plan screwed up when my car stucked in the whell! Here it goes:

We reached UTP in 4.00am, to see no one but sleepy Ming Xian with his half-closed eyes, welcoming us.
*both of us continue our sleeping journey then*

Next morning, I regeistered a the room M-o2-14 in Methana, opposite to Kong's room. Chang Yi took Kevin's previous room, and Timmy hasn't decided which room to decided. Kinda normal to him.

Then Kong fetch me to Batu Gajah KTM to buy tickets to KL. 4.am depature time sia...
Then headed to Yee Weng house in Ipoh to get back my old car...
So terrified when I find out that my car's wheel was jammed! Propbably I pulled my hand break so tight 1 andn a half month ago. So I got no choice but surrender my car to a mechanic.

Nightmare for both of us when I left the KTM tickets in my car in Ipoh! ><
I'm wondering how to get it back without troubling other people...
So our trip to KL canceled. So the next day we went back by buying another new ticket!

Photoshoping Again!

It has been years since I last played worked on Photoshop. If I did use Photoshop, it's must a be project or task. However since it is holiday and I'm being dumped by my buddies just because of a lame good reason - holiday ended, semester starts, I face my PC almost 12 hours a day! Online chatting with cockroach, Playing DotA, Red Alert, bla bla...and finally Photoshop.

I don't see a productive lifestyle I'm having, except for the wallpaper thingy. These few days I've been crazy on wallpapers (caused by boredom) , especially on wallpapers of myself scenery. I've been downloading a few dozens, but still couldn't satisfy my crave. I want a perfect wallpaper of the blue planet! Suddenly I saw the Photoshop icon....tada...! (this is how I start engaging with Photoshop again) So it is done! However I edited and edited till 3.00 morning.... *yawn*

My wallpaper.(shape of moon is distorted caused by compression to fit in blogspot)
For those who don't have the knowledge on Photoshop may wonder how an image is edited, so I'll generously share it with you. Below are a few simple steps to create/edit a wallpaper.
(this is not a tutorial, but just simply giving a whole picture on the step-by-step processes)

STEP 1
Google it to get a background of the planet. Yeah, this one is a simple one. Plain and empty. But the original picture is dull so I've intensified its colour to yeild the result below.

STEP 2
Since it is so plain, why not add something else? My photo, A spaceship, rocket, or space junk? I think a moon is a better choice. So did I googled it. Placed it in next layer above the earth. It looks like this:

STEP 3
It looks nice with the moon. BUT, did you notice that the earth surface is kinda fake? My guess is: probably computer-generated. So I'll need to replace it with a real one. Again I googled to get a new picture, then I rotated it, stretched it over the surface and finally blend it with the ozones layers. (using feathered earaser)

STEP 4
However still the picture lack of something....the twinkle lil stars. So again I googled a picture of stars, then placed it as another layer on top, and set the layer's mode into "screen", which means appear as "lighting", while removing those which covers the earth and moon with a hard-edge earaser.

STEP 5
Still, unsatisfying, the moon don't look good anyway. So I've replaced it with a luminescent moon. To create the light spreading effect, simply styled the layer with "outer glow" with mode "screen". This is the final result:
NOTE: wallpaper needs high resolution images!

These are some of the posters and banners that I've did in the past...for the banner the Franciscan should had seen them.
